Curriculum

Dr. Carlo de Vincentiis is the Head of the Adult Cardiac Surgery Unit of the IRCCS Policlinico San Donato in Milan.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the Università degli Studi di Napoli in 1989. The following year he was awarded the Ettore Ruggeri scholarship conferred to him by the Italian Society of Surgery and in 1994 he specialized, still at the University of Naples , in Cardiac Surgery.

In 2002 In 2002, he received the enabling in Thoracic Surgery by the National Committee of the Medical Association Française, after a period of work, from 1990 to 1999, in the department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the Hopital Cardiologique Haut Leveque à Bordeaux (France).

Since 1999 he has worked at the IRCCS Policlinico San Donato and takes care of the treatment of cardiovascular pathologies acquired by adults, with particular interest in the treatment of chronic and acute aortic pathologies (patients with bicuspid, affected by Marfan’s Syndrome, with aneurisms and/or aortic dissection), valve-related pathologies (through reparative and/or substitutive surgery), coronary surgery and of heart failure, having performed over 6000 cardiac surgeries.

In the international sphere, he has collaborated as a Cardiac surgeon consultant in Egypt, Perù, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Cameroon, Kosovo, India where he has also been a Professor at the “Workshop in Valve Repair” from 2009 to 2012.

He is Co-investigator:

• Of the International Registry of Acute Aortic Dissection (IRAD)
• Of the International Bicuspid Aortic Valve Consortium (BAVcon)
• Of the International Aortic Arch Surgery Study Group (IAASSGG).

He is a member of the Italian Society of Cardiac Surgery and of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS).
